Matt Brown & Vidar Skrede team up to play traditional American and Nordic fiddle music.

Matt Brown teaches fiddle, banjo, and guitar at the Old Town School of Folk Music. His fiddling is featured along with guitarist Greg Reish on the 2015 release “Speed of the Plow,” which was engineered and co-produced by GRAMMY winner Dave Sinko (Punch Brothers, Béla Fleck, Chris Thile & Edgar Meyer). Matt and Greg have been touring the country as a duo performing the album's collection of old-time duets. Matt has also toured as a soloist, with percussive dance ensembles Rhythm in Shoes and Footworks, and has made guest appearances with Tim O'Brien, The John Hartford Stringband, Uncle Earl, Special Consensus, and Della Mae. He has performed twice with Mike Snider on the Grand Ole Opry. Matt plays fiddle with the Chicago band Big Sadie, whose debut album will be released in 2017.

Hailing from from Haugesund, Norway, Vidar Skrede is a freelance Nordic folk musician on guitar, harding fiddle, fiddle and Greek bouzouki. He has a background in the traditional music from Rogaland (in the southwest of Norway), and has a master degree in Nordic folk music from the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. Vidar is known from bands like Vidar Skrede DYNAMO BAND, Geitungen, The Secret Carpet Club, and AAMOS. He has also performed with artists like Vegar Vårdal, Patrik Andersson, Frode Haltli, Stian Carstensen (from Farmers Market), Kristian Bugge (from Baltic Crossing), Niklas Roswall (from Ranarim), Zar (DK), Bodega (UK), Sver (NO), Liz Carroll (USA) and Bruce Molsky (USA).

Walk-up ticket purchases are only available at Lincoln Hall beginning one hour before listed show time and at Schubas thirty minutes before listed show time unless the show is sold out.
